I feel that my weight loss is a small part of my success in Weigh Down. I have become closer to God in that I read the Word more and I apply it practically to my life. I seek Him in times of distress and in times of good. He is my best friend. I have also learned how to get a handle on my finances (credit card debt, spending, etc.) by eliminating the need to spend money as a way of filling up my heart. I have also learned how to be a more submissive wife, although I still struggle in this area, as I am a very independent woman who comes from a disfunctional background. But, God is so good and He answers in His time to my prayers. Patience, that is what I have increased in.
I have lost over 50 lbs. in Weigh Down. I do not weigh myself at all anymore. I did not exercise in the beginning, as I did not want exercise to be a tool for weight loss. I do, however, now play tennis regularly, as I love the game, and I enjoy volleyball, baseball, and walking.
That's the key word: Enjoy. It is not something I HAVE to do. I still need to lose about 10 or 15 more lbs., and it has been more difficult to lose the last few pounds. But I know the Lord will do what needs to be done when I turn to Him for assurance, guidance, and answers. I have gone from a Women's size 16-18 to a Ladies 12. I started at 220. I weigh 168. I'm 5'9". I hope to get to around 150 pounds. Maybe that's not in God's plan so I just continue to serve Him and receive the jewels as He chooses to give them.
Don't give up and don't rely on anyone or anything but God for your needs. He is the living water.
